If there’s one thing you can count on, it’s Taylor Sheridan ruling Paramount+. His most popular series Yellowstone not only did it single-handedly revive the Western genre, but it gave us many successful spinoffs, including 1883 again 1923.
Surprisingly, these spinoffs don’t make up the five Taylor Sheridan shows that currently dominate the top 10 streamer chart. It currently looks like this:
- South Park
- The Marshals
- Madison
- Yellowstone
- Tulsa King
- UFC Fight Night
- Ex Ogwini
- Spongebob Squarepants
- NCIS
- Landman
While Yellowstone still the beating heart of everything Taylor Sheridan represents, Tulsa King he is a complete outsider. The independent series follows a New York Mafia capo who is exiled to Tulsa, Oklahoma, after serving 25 years in prison.

Then there are his two recent escapades, Madison again The Marshals. The first is a standalone, exploring the plight of the Clyburn family as they uproot their New York City high life for rural Montana.
The Marshals is the first direct one Yellowstone spinoff since season 5 episode 2 ended, but so far it’s been anchored as a standard police procedural. We still have it Dutton Ranch to add to the list, although it won’t be released until May.
In my opinion, you should not broadcast any of the above TV shows I just listed, but instead turn your attention to the one I deliberately left out – Sheridan’s last masterpiece, Landman.
Sorry, but Landman is still the smartest Taylor Sheridan show on Paramount+
Watch it open
I’m a tough critic, but I can also reward inconsistency Landman rating 5/5. We’re two seasons into Texan oilman Tommy Norris’ (Billy Bob Thornton) rapidly deteriorating, pressured by his volatile family and a demanding job at M-Tex.
What Tommy’s nightmare makes for incredible television, there’s so much going on at once that you never know where to look for the best.
Even an oil dunce like me feels like he can work tomorrow without more training than watching Landmanand that level of immersion feels special in itself. Sheridan’s art works on another level here, meaning that no matter what actually happens, you’re invested.
Unexpectedly, they were women Landman who make the show really sing. Tommy’s on-off again love, Angela (Ali Larter), the dictionary definition of a bull in a china shop, and rowdy daughter Ainsley (Michelle Randolph) follow in his footsteps.
Then there’s Cami (Demi Moore), who has taken ownership of M-Tex after the death of her husband Monty (Jon Hamm) in season 1. She takes no prisoners when she takes on the role, having to bail on the mountain of problems Monty hid from her while she was still alive.
Landman is a ground-breaking study of how complex people can be – and how that complexity affects other people. I can guarantee you won’t believe your ears listening to the outrageous dialogue, and you’ll be left wondering how long Tommy can hold on.
