Easter is a great opportunity (no regrets) to make amends smart devices you may have your home ready for egg hunts, hyper kids and spring feasts.
In addition to classic activities, try these settings and changes when hosting Easter this year, especially if you have smart locka smart speakeranything else smart lights you can gather for a fun day. They can also help you save time when things get chaotic.
Automatically lock doors and human alerts on cameras

Home security technology can be very helpful when automating your home. Two of our favorite features are smart locks that can automatically lock the door if it’s accidentally left unlocked and video doorbells or other cameras that can detect people and give you alerts when someone approaches the door.
But if you have an outdoor Easter party, you should visit the settings and turn off these functions. People, especially children who are excited about egg hunting, tend to run inside and outside a lot when the weather is nice. You don’t want the door to keep closing behind them or be bombarded with endless sighting alerts during Easter.
These features are easy to temporarily disable in your device’s operating system under the Settings section so that everyone can enjoy the day without interruptions.
Use home speakers to add spice to your indoor egg hunt
A wireless speaker or camera can provide fun Easter ideas to keep youngsters entertained.
If the weather doesn’t allow being outside, you’re probably planning an indoor Easter egg hunt, especially if you have young children who may need a watchful eye. However, the little ones can sometimes get frustrated if they don’t get any eggs.
Another fun way to fix these problems is to hide a small speaker near the eggs or in a place where you can whisper directions from afar. Wireless security cameras are great for this because you can keep an eye on the kids while giving them independence, while smart speakers can also be a good choice if there is a nearby area.
Set this up with an audio app connection, and you can use your phone to whisper directions, anything from “Hi, I’m here!” to classic hot/cold ideas, depending on how the kids react.
Give the smart light a new and colorful Easter makeover
Smart holiday lights are now full of possibilities.
Spring colors mark almost every Easter party, and today’s smart lights are a great option for you to celebrate with color, especially if you have an Easter evening party. Color-changing smart lights let you switch to any shade of the rainbow you want, from bright colors to soft pastels.
Color setting works best for smart holiday light strings, where you can choose an Easter palette online and have the lights automatically color-match through the app.
Bonus tip: Set up Easter egg hunt lights in the evening if necessary
If you’re doing one of those glow-in-the-dark or starlight Easter egg hunts for older kids, it’s a good idea to turn off any smart motion-detection lights around your home, like those on security cameras. A sudden flash of bright LEDs can really spoil the experience. Most outdoor cameras have night vision to keep an eye on things anyway.
