Look The Handmaid’s Tale Series Graph (episodes are rated by fan rating), and you’ll see something almost impossible: back-to-back ratings of 9.0 and 5.7 for the last two episodes of season 6. Translated, that Game of Thrones average reaction to the last episode of the show.
Given that the season 6 finale was a real setup for a new series for Hulu and Disney+ Testamentsthings were not looking good. Fortunately, the truth is completely different – and I think sincerely Testaments it’s as good as season 1 of The Handmaid’s Tale.
Testament is the transformational journey that The Handmaid’s Tale season 6 wanted to be
Watch it open
About 15 years after the events of The Handmaid’s TaleA lot has changed in the Republic of Gilead. Aunt Lydia has freed herself from imprisonment by being appointed to oversee the rules and uniforms governing the women of Gilead for the new school.
Here, the students are divided into four colors: Pinks for the lower ages, Plums for the under-twelve children, Greens for those who are married and eligible for marriage, and those called ‘Pearl Girls,’ who have just been transferred out.
Where Margaret Atwood’s book follows the vision of Aunt Lydia, Hulu’s version finds a devoted Plum Agnes (Infiniti), who believes completely in the kingdom and what it is trying to achieve. He hates his stepmother, yet his father Mkhuzi is also always away from home.
One day, Aunt Lydia gives her a Pearl Girl named Daisy (Halliday), which makes Agnes’ friends think she has done something wrong. No one can trust the other, and when Daisy arrives with Gilead and secrets, Agnes begins to see the light.
It stands to reason that a school under a totalitarian regime creates instant intrigue, but the ensemble performances belie that. If we put too much aside, our Aunts and Plum are chosen for perfection, straddling the line between delusion and neglect as, for the first time, men begin to experience the full extent of the death penalty.
Aunt Lydia could make or break what happens in Testament season 2 – which I’m sure is coming

Ann Dowd has been the class act we’ve known her for years, and I’m so glad that Aunt Lydia is a character that both Atwood and Hulu chose to continue with. Season 6 saw his loyalty to Gilead diminish at the end, but this time I don’t trust him.
Why? When we meet him again in the middle Testamentshis faith in Gilead appears to have been completely restored. However, he knows more than he lets on, and that makes him completely invisible when it comes to continued treason.
It’s a smooth business, and Aunt Lydia can help or hinder Agnes and Daisy on their upcoming adventure. Obviously, there are no spoilers here, but the entire season of Testaments I feel like the beginning of the main course is yet to come, and I am sure that season 2 should already be improved.
Wishing for the expansion of a fictional dictatorship while living in politically dangerous times sounds strange, but I’m hoping for more installments Testaments as I can.
At the moment, we already have to indulge in the head and moreish wearing a colored uniform. The song is very effective, and you can’t compromise – especially when it comes to the details that fans have been thinking could be fulfilled. In fact, I was spreading it across the board The Handmaid’s Tale itself on any day of the week.
Obviously we get them for more reasons than I have listed, and if The Handmaid’s Tale spinoff continues to live up to the level of brilliance we see throughout these 10 episodes, totalitarian TV will never get better.
