Easter Gingerbread Houses | Cute DIY Peep House for Easter

These Easter gingerbread houses are the perfect DIY holiday project!

If you want fun, creativity, and edible Easter crafts for kids, these homemade Easter gingerbread houses using Peeps marshmallows are a must-do! The process is very similar to making Christmas gingerbread houses, except we’re using good Easter candy!

Wondering how to make a Peep house for Easter? Try these tips first!

making shredded coconut straw into a bag for peeps houses

1. Decorate your Easter Peep house with shredded coconut grass!

These edible herbs are completely optional, but very easy and fun to make. First, I added about a cup of shredded coconut in a plastic bag. Then, I mixed a teaspoon of water with two drops of green food coloring. Add the water/food coloring mixture to the baggie, shake the contents, and the chopped coconut will take on a beautiful green color. You can use this “grass” in your Peeps houses!

making Easter gingerbread houses with graham crackers

2. Make the foundation of your Peep house first.

Use the frosting to attach the three walls and support them together, as shown abovethen let that dry/set for a few minutes. Then, attach the corrugated roof to the top. Finally, you can decorate your houses with coconut grass, Peeps, Easter candy, etc. It’s fun and easy to create!

Hip Tip: Be sure to use light/small candy or sprinkles to decorate the ceiling, or it may leak inside. That happens with heavy candy. 😆

1

Split 3 graham cracker sheets in half, so you have 6 square pieces.

2

Use glue to “glue” the four pieces together to form the base of the house. Place one cracker square, then glue the three sides to support the square. Allow to dry/set for a few minutes.

3

Use the plaster of paris to make a pointed roof and attach it to the top of the house.

4

Let the housing dry/set for a few more minutes. Place shredded coconut, Peeps, and jelly beans inside the house for decoration. You can also use candy or small sprinkles to decorate the outside using extra icing.
