Here are 7 of the best Texas Roadhouse menu dishes that call for hidden gems.
Bone-In Ribeye Steak
Meat eaters swear by the Bone-In Ribeye, 20oz., “juicy, flavorful ribeye served on the bone for extra flavor,” the menu reads. The steak is cooked to your liking and served with a choice of two sides. “I almost always order the ribeye and it never disappoints,” said one diner. “I went to Texas Roadhouse back in January for the first time in 15 years and I was blown away by how good the cost was. 16oz ribeye, two sides, a couple of drinks and I came out $45 with a tip,” one fan wrote.
Prime Rib
Prime rib is the “hidden gem of Texas Roadhouse,” according to one fan. “Great taste, and very similar to steaks in terms of quality and presentation. I’ve been eating it for years and it’s delicious. It’s one of my favorite chain foods.” Another diner recommends eating it with creamed horseradish, “and save one of those cakes for dessert and dip in that horseradish au jus,” they say. “It’s one of my favorite things I’ve ever eaten. Steak kebabs are another staple on the menu, offering a decent portion of meat and vegetables at a very good price. “To me, at least, kabobs are a real hidden gem. Somehow, they always seem to nail the cook, and I love grilled vegetables,” revealed one Redditor.

As for the appetizer, “potato skins are allowed!” confirms one Redditor about the item, which is actually called Tater Skins. It comes with 8 baked potato skins, sprinkled with melted cheddar cheese and bacon bits, and served with sour cream for dipping.
Filet Medallions
In another Reddit feed, a fan of Texas Roadhouse revealed that they swear by the Filet Medallions, which come with three medallions, 3 ounces of filet, “which is a total of 9 oz of Filet that costs $1 less than an 8oz Filet,” they write. Medallions are served on a bed of rice and come with two sides and a choice of sauce. “You can also pay a small fee to add 1x more 3oz medal which is a variable amount but is a good way to ensure leftovers or a hearty meal that’s very tasty for the buck and easily sleeps on the menu item,” they revealed.
Chili
Also, don’t forget to order chili, which is one of the most expensive items. “I know it sounds dumb as a part, but if you’re a meat lover, you should talk about it,” said the Redditor. “TXRH hand-picks all of their steaks. Those cuts are not wasted,” they continued, adding that this chili is “one of the most expensive chilies you can make at home because it’s ground filet, ribeye, strip, and sirloin meat,” they wrote. “I’m a big fan.”

And you can’t go wrong with the 12 oz NY/KC line. “If you want to make sure your steak is cut to order (instead of pre-cut that day like most 6/8/11 oz Sir) you can always ask for a specific size as long as it’s bigger than the maximum size on the menu. For example, 16oz ribeye + 2oz extra small amount per oz that varies by restaurant/region and you’ll find that one server will cut 18.”
