Major carriers, incl IT-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T, often offers great deals to entice you to switch. However, you will have to check the large print to make sure you know what you are signing up for. CNET’s shopping experts are here to spec phones and organize deals, and help you save real money without the headache.
Below, you’ll find our team’s picks for the best deals you can buy right now from AT&T, along with a detailed breakdown of how these deals actually work. We will continue to update this page as these offers come through, so be sure to check back whenever you want to upgrade or change providers.
It’s important to note that carriers are constantly updating their deals. AT&T has some compelling offers available, or the best deals often require signing up for AT&T’s unlimited plan. Overall, the best deals tend to drop around the holidays or right after a new phone launch (February or March for Samsung Galaxy S phones; September for Apple iPhones; fall for Google Pixel phones), but AT&T also tends to offer some solid themes throughout the year.
While some manufacturers, especially Apple and Samsung, offer deals on their websites and stores, many people look to carriers to purchase and finance new phones.
The best AT&T phone deals
Many AT&T phone deals are available to new and existing customers, though trade-ins are often required to get the advertised prices. It’s worth noting that these deals are spread over 36 months of credit, meaning you’ll need to be an AT&T customer for at least three years to pay for the phone. If you cancel before that period ends, you will be responsible for any remaining charges.
You can save big on the iPhone 17 series with eligible trade-ins. Devices priced at $130 or more will save $830 on the base iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air, while devices priced at $230 or more will save up to $1,100 on the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max. Plus, even old and damaged devices priced at just $35 or more can save you up to $350 on any model.
With these deals you get the basic iPhone 17 for free, the iPhone Air for $5 a month, the iPhone 17 Pro for free and the iPhone 17 Pro Max for about $3 a month. Discounts are applied as credit credits over 36 months.
Samsung Galaxy S26 series
The latest Samsung Galaxy S26 phones have just hit the shelves, and they are some of the most advanced Android phones on the market right now. Prices have gone up for the new generation, but AT&T offers many ways to put one in your pocket for free right now.
You’ll save up to $1,300 on trade-ins valued at $230 or more, bringing all three models down to $0. Devices priced at $95 will still save you up to $1,100, and those priced at $35 or more can still knock up to $900 off the original price. Those who add a new line can also get a $200 discount.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7/Fold 7
Samsung’s latest foldables are some of the best on the market, with both models earning a spot on our list of the best phones of 2026. And they’re even better if you can grab one at a bargain price. AT&T is currently offering up to $1,000 off with eligible trade-ins, which gets you the Galaxy Z Flip 7 for $3 a month and the larger-screen Galaxy Z Fold 7 for $28 a month.
You’ll get a full discount on any phone priced at $95 or more, and even old and damaged devices priced at $35 or more will still owe $800. The discount will be applied as credit credits within 36 months. And, as with the other AT&T offers on this list, there’s a $200 internet-only rebate for opening a new line with an eligible plan.
Surprisingly, AT&T doesn’t currently carry the new Pixel 10 Pro Fold, but it does offer some savings on the other three models.
If you’re after the basic Pixel 10, you’ll save $454 if you buy the phone on an installment plan, bringing the cost down to just $11 a month. On the Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL, just trade in any phone from any year in any condition and you’ll get up to $1,050 off or up to $1,250 separately, which gets you either phone for free.
Discounts on iPhone 17E and more without trade-in
AT&T has plenty of deals for those who don’t have trade-in phones. You can get discounts on many great phones like Apple’s new budget-friendly iPhone 17E if you buy them on a 36-month installment plan. These deals don’t require a trade-in or new line activation, but you must keep your AT&T service for the entire three-year period. This offer can save you hundreds, so you can get your hands on high-end models like the new Google Pixel 10A for just $6 a month, the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE for $11 a month and the iPhone 17E or Motorola Razr Plus 2025 for just $6 a month.
AT&T is also offering a $200 discount when you order online. You must open a new row with the appropriate program.
The best AT&T deals
If you’re looking to switch to AT&T, there are a few deals on various plans that could make you lean toward one or the other. Promotions on plans are less common these days, although in most cases, you can get free extras (like streaming service subscriptions and music subscriptions) by signing up to some of each carrier’s premium 5G plans. AT&T, however, no longer offers free streaming services to new subscribers who don’t already have it on their plans.
AT&T includes 5G access with all of its plans; The biggest difference for many users in its latest programs is the amount of hotspot data. There’s also a difference in the amount of “high-speed” data, though for its cheaper Starter plan, AT&T says it will only throttle your speed “temporarily” if you’re in an area where the network is “busy.”
In terms of savings, your employer may also offer a business discount on plans, but you’ll need to check with them to see if that applies to personal accounts. AT&T also offers other discounts, depending on your service.
Are you a teacher, or is someone in your family currently a teacher? You can save on your wireless bill. AT&T offers a teacher discount on its plans that can save you some serious money, depending on the plan. The lowest price for four lines is $27 per line per month for its Value 2.0 plan. The Extra 2.0 plan costs $34 per month per line, while the Premium 2.0 plan costs more at $44 per line. If you want one line, the price of the Value 2.0 plan is $45.
Teachers can verify their eligibility by going to the AT&T website here. The carrier says the deal is open to “certified/licensed K-12 teachers in public or private schools, or college or university members or faculty.”
You’ll also need to be on AT&T’s Unlimited Starter, Extra or Premium plans.
Military and veterans discount
AT&T offers the same 25% discount on plans for active military members, veterans and first responders. Similar to the teacher discount, you only need one person in your program to qualify for the discount, which varies depending on the number of lines you have. Both active duty military and veterans can check their eligibility here.
Nurses, doctors and first responders
Like teachers and members of the military, AT&T also offers discounts to healthcare workers, but the deal works a little differently. For this offering, AT&T is partnering with FirstNet, a network designed specifically for first responders and emergency workers.
It offers a 20% discount on family plans — similar to the discounts above — but this deal is only available to those you already have a paid FirstNet subscriptionstarting at $41 per month. Then, you’ll need a separate family plan from AT&T, which qualifies for a 20% discount.
