The 2026 Olympia Qualification Points System has been announced

The road to the Olympia will be different next season.

The Olympia qualification process will improve for the 2026 season. The IFBB Pro League has announced new points and qualifying criteria for the biggest bodybuilding show. The new rules can be seen below, as shared by the IFBB Pro League Instagram page:

Men’s Open, 212, Women’s Bodybuilding, Fitness, Figure, Women’s Body, and Fitness Model

The schedule of these categories will remain largely unchanged. The top three in each Olympia competition automatically qualify for the 2026 Olympia. Similarly, the winners of the professional championships in the 2026 season will also be eligible. Rising Phoenix’s top three are also invited to the 2026 Ms. Olympia competition.

Past Olympia champions will retain lifetime eligibility, but must seek approval from the IFBB Pro League to enter the Olympia if five years have passed since their last Olympia win.

A key feature of the announcement was the addition of a Fit Model category. The Fit Model Olympia will feature 12 categories of the annual world championship event.

Classic Physique, Men’s Bodies, Bikinis, and Fitness

The titles of the Olympia champions have not changed, and so have those who finish in any Olympia arena. The previous champion rule will apply in these categories.

The champions of 2026 Arnold Classic (USA)2026 Pittsburgh Pro, 2026 New York Pro, 2026 Romania Fest Pro, and 2026 Dubai Pro lock spots in 2026 Olympia.

Apart from those shows, athletes must win two events to qualify for Olympia.

Points System

The new points system is the most important change in these categories. They finished fifth in the second 2026 Arnold Classic (USA)2026 Pittsburgh Pro, 2026 New York Pro, 2026 Romania Fest Pro, and 2026 Dubai Pro receive the following points:

  • Second – 14
  • 3-11
  • 4 – 9
  • 5 – 7

Pro tournaments in the 2026 calendar not mentioned above no longer offer automatic qualification to the Olympia. Instead, they award the following points to the top five finishers:

  • 1-10
  • Second – 4
  • Third – 3
  • 4 – 2
  • 5 – 1

The top 25 points at the end of the season qualify for the Olympia. These changes are in response to the influx of athletes who have qualified for the 2025 Olympia. At the time of publication of this article, some categories have 60 competitors who have qualified for the Olympia.

A wheelchair for men

The Men’s Wheelchair category will remain the same as previous years: the top three from Olympia and the winners of each pro competition in the 2026 season qualify for the 2026 Olympia.

Pro show non-winners receive points in the following structure:

  • Second – 10
  • 3-9
  • 4-8
  • 5 – 7

The top five at the end of the qualifying season will advance to the Olympia.

Dan Solomon Speaks

President of Olympia Dan Solomon explained BarBend the reason for the new points system.

“Our responsibility is to maintain the reputation of Olympia, while also serving as world champions in 11 categories including the IFBB Pro League,” explained Solomon. “This sport is growing at an incredible rate, and we are very grateful for the support of the fans and athletes.”

The 2026 Olympia qualifying season begins on September 15, 2025.
