Capcom isn’t completely abandoning artificial AI, but it has promised fans that it won’t use AI assets in games.

  • Capcom has told investors and fans that they will not use AI for game content generation
  • It still plans to use AI to boost productivity, though
  • Broadly speaking, Nvidia’s DLSS 5 remains part of the company’s plans for the future

The backlash against Nvidia’s DLSS 5, and its use of generative AI to try to ‘improve’ visuals and realism in games, has forced the hand of the popular game publisher and developer to reassure fans about its position in relation to AI.

As reported by Notebookcheck, Capcom announced in a recent Q&A session for investors that it will not be using artificial intelligence in games. This comes after Capcom’s involvement with Nvidia, and the use of DLSS 5, was made clear, leaving fans (and even developers) concerned about the state of Capcom’s AI.
