A little information is a very dangerous thing in Connections, as it goes with the group you are guessing.
That was the case for me today as a MEMBER OF THE DETROIT SPORTS TEAM. I knew that RED WING and PISTON were both Motor City franchises, but I was also convinced that LIGHTNING was a Detroit franchise and was switching back and forth dropping TIGER and then LION before finally settling on it.
At the time there was no margin for error, but luckily some guesswork led me to a link between FRANKENSTEIN’S MONSTER and a HARDWARE STORE and I found BOOTS.

What is NYT Connections?
NYT Connections is one of the increasingly popular word games created by The New York Times. It challenges you to find groups of four elements that share something in common, and each group has a different level of difficulty: green is easy, yellow is a little harder, blue is usually harder and purple is usually more difficult.
On the other hand, you don’t technically need to solve the last one, as you will be able to answer that one through the process of elimination. In addition, you can make four mistakes, which gives you a little breathing room.
It’s a bit more involved than something like Wordle, however, and there’s more chance for the game to get bogged down with tricks. For example, watch out for homophones and other word games that can hide answers.
It’s free to play through the NYT Games site on desktop or mobile.
