Now, in an interview with Games Industry.biz, executive producer Fredrik Brönjemark has also stepped in to ease fans’ worries, confirming that the game’s roadmap is already fully mapped out.
“We are working and executing on a roadmap that has been planned and secured for a long time,” said Brönjemark.
“Julian’s departure is not a distraction. We are happy for him and obviously sad to see him go. He was a friend. But until now Section 3 we are moving, we have our future and our road already secured, and we know exactly where we are going and what we want to do.”
Section 2 the artistic director, Yannick Banchereau, also touched on the future of the series and believes “doubtfully” that it will continue for another decade.
“It’s all about having happy players and a thriving community,” Banchereau said. “That’s the ultimate goal. If we have that, we’ll eventually be able to grow our player base and have a strong and thriving community if Section 3 it releases and continues to grow from there. That is exactly what we see before us.
“Now we have them To rise againwhich will be a big part of that, we’re inviting a new audience and franchise.”
The creative director also revealed that the team thought about acting Section 2 free-to-play, but “never made sense”, explaining that “it was very clear that the model we have now works very well with the current game”.
The transition to a free-to-play model will also require Ubisoft to make major changes to the game, but Banchereau explained that the team “protects our players’ information and how we make money, how we do business”.
“We are honest about how this works and at the end of the day, for our game to continue to grow we need to bring in money,” he said. “But we always want to make sure we do that in a way that’s respectful of our players. Free play isn’t going to break that, but you’re going to need to adapt and make changes. So far, we haven’t seen the need to do that.”
Section 3 it was announced back in 2023, but still has no release date. For now, Ubisoft is free Phase Resumptionis a free-to-play game now available on mobile devices.
