April is here, and that means a whole new batch of 4K Blu-ray releases, and it looks like a real mix! Here at TechRadar, we not only use 4K Blu-ray to review the best TVs and soundbars, but we’re collectors ourselves. Some of these discs may find their way onto our shelves!
While it looks like there are tons of great discs coming in April, I’ve picked out a few highlights that I hope to include in Blu-ray Bounty, our monthly column where we check out the latest 4K Blu-ray releases we think will show on your home theater system: be it picture, sound, or hopefully, both!
In my March highly anticipated 4K Blu-ray article, I chose it 3:10 to Yuma (1957), Bad: Good, The Breakfast Club, The Man Who Wasn’t, again Ben-Hur. I got four out of five tests on the March 2026 Blu-ray Bounty, and they looked great. Ben-Hur it’s been delayed in the UK until April 26, so expect it in this month’s Blu-ray Bounty!

Below, I’ve selected my four most anticipated discs for April 2026. As I’m based in the UK, these are based on UK 4K releases, so don’t be surprised if your favorite isn’t there!
28 Years Later: Bone Temple (Sony Pictures)
Watch it open
A direct sequence of After 28 years (the third film in 28 days later franchise), 28 years later: The Bone Temple it begins where its predecessor left off. Dr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes) makes a tragic discovery, while Spike (Alfie Williams) is indoctrinated into a cult led by ‘Sir Lord’ Jimmy Crystal (Jack O’Connell).
28 years later: The Bone Temple it has many attractive scenes, with strong contrasts and bright, burning lights, which are sure to look great in 4K, especially with Dolby Vision HDR support. I expect a clean, modern 4K presentation similar to other titles I’ve tested, such as Predator: Badlands.
Action-packed horror like this depends on your audio production, so it’s good news the 4K disc 28 years later: The Bone Temple comes with a Dolby Atmos soundtrack in tow. This will be great for delivering every fight sequence, pulse, horror scene, and even moments of calm in nature.

Marty Supreme (A24)
Watch it open
Marty Supreme tells the story of Marty Mauser (Timothée Chalamet), a table tennis player who fought to become world champion in the 1950s. Directed by Josh Safdie (of the Safdie Brothers, dir Good Time again Uncut gems), Marty Supreme nominated for several Academy Awards in 2026.
The Safdie Brothers are often known for making films that look as good as anyone’s ever seen Good Time again Uncut gems he will testify, too Marty Supreme it is not different. The beauty of the 1950s, both colorful and gritty, should look good in 4K, and a table tennis sequence should be a good test of your display’s mobility.
4K Blu-ray of Marty Supreme it comes with a Dolby Atmos soundtrack, which would not only be great for delivering a movie soundtrack (full of songs from both the 1950s and 1980s) but also a movie ping pong sequence. I’m looking forward to putting this one up against our reference Samsung HW-Q990C soundbar to really test that immersive Atmos feel.

Gilda (Criterion Collection)
Watch it open
Gilda is a classic of Golden Age Cinema and one of Rita Hayworth’s (playing Gilda) most famous roles. It tells the story of Johnny Farrell (Glenn Ford), a gambler who works for a casino owner, only for problems to arise when he realizes that the owner’s new wife is his former lover, Gilda (Hayworth).
It seems like every month I write about a new Criterion Collection 4K disc that brings new life to an old movie, whether 3:10 For Yuma, Captain Blood, Double Indemnity: I can continue. Gilda it looks like it will be the latest entry in this list, and I have high hopes that this movie will look good in 4K, especially with Dolby Vision HDR included.
4K disc of Gilda it’s only set to include the LCPM mono soundtrack, but again, having experienced a few Criterion Collection 4K discs, I expect a refined soundtrack with clear speech and a clean score. There won’t be anything suitable for the sound-system, but it should be good anyway.

Hamnet (Worldwide Pictures)
Watch it open
Hamnet tells the story of Agnes Hathaway (Jessie Buckley), the wife of playwright William Shakespeare (Paul Mescal), who has to deal with the tragic loss of their son Hamnet, an event that inspires Shakespeare to write Hamlet. Directed by Chloe Zhao, Hamnet won numerous awards, including Academy Awards for Zhao (Best Director), Buckley (Best Actress), and Best Picture.
Hamnet it should look great on 4K Blu-ray. It has cross-sections that should show all areas of the display. From lush natural forests with the occasional bright outfit to the gritty, dirty streets of London, there should be plenty here to serve as a visual treat. Least of all because Dolby Vision HDR is supported.
Although this disc is unlikely to push your system to its limits like an action blockbuster can, the Hamnet The 4K release comes with Dolby Atmos audio. Where I expect this to shine is during scenes in the woods and nature. These can often be among the best types of scenes to really showcase the Dolby Atmos sound system, with subtle sounds.
