5 Popular Chains Where French Fries Are Really Cut at Home

These five popular chains offer hand-fried french fries with their burgers.

Burgers and Fries are two peas in a pod. It would be wrong to have one without the other, so if you’re on the hunt for a tasty, juicy burger for a quick dinner, or just because you’re craving it, hand-cut fries on the side are a must. The quality is evident when they are freshly cut, it makes all the difference in the world. Here are five popular chains where you can find hand-fried french fries.

Penn Stations East Coast Subs

Penn Stations East Coast Subs is a chain known for more than subs. Their fresh fries are cut from Idaho potatoes and fried in cholesterol-free peanut butter, which almost makes them sound healthy (don’t be fooled, they aren’t, but they are delicious). It’s not the only thing they do from scratch! Pair that with a cup of their homemade lemonade, hand-squeezed daily, to wash down those fries.

Five Boys

Five Guys does not disappoint, especially when it comes to their fries. I personally enjoy their burgers, but their fries are the highlight. Five Guys has a few tricks up its sleeve, starting with a cut fry that basically has a day at a spa full of cold heat and starch soaking before going into the fryer. Another trick is to double fry in peanut oil to really lock in that crispy outer layer.

BurgerFi

BurgerFi is truly different from your average fast food burger chain, paying more attention to quality instead of cutting corners. Choosing Angus beef burgers that are free of antibiotics and hormones is just the beginning. This rate is spread between their frames. Their classic salty fries are never frozen, made fresh in-house, and diners can taste the difference.

Mooyah

Mooyah offers a variety of burgers, including fun options like the Hamburdo, which features certified Angus beef topped with hot all-beef, bacon, cheddar cheese, jalapeños, fried onions, and ketchup on a potato bun, combining two summer staples in one portable base. A burger isn’t complete without a side of potatoes, and for Mooyah, that starts with the quality of the potatoes. Their hand cut Idaho potato fries can be eaten on their own, loaded with green chili queso, toppings, or turned into fried chilies.

In N-Out

In-N-Out has its reputation for a reason. Not only are their burgers delicious, but that goes into how they make their fries, too. Hand-cut potatoes are then fried in 100% sunflower oil, making their signature salty fries delicious.
